Southeast Lineman Training Center has been the premier training school for lineworker training for over 20 years. In 2016, our Communications Lineworker Program (CLP) was established and became the first dedicated telecommunications lineman training program in the country.
Lead Instructor of our CLP, Addan Dye, believes that the instruction we provide through our program bridges the gap for students looking to enter the electrical utility and communications industry. We recently sat down with Addan to chat about the importance of training when entering the industry and learned his five top facts you should know about our Communications Lineworker Program.
There is no apprenticeship program for communications lineworkers. This means that immediately after graduating from our Communications Lineworker Program, there is no additional programming or training required for you to start your high paying career! The average communication lineworker makes almost $60,000 each year with the top 90% making almost $100,000.1
You will receive specialized training and certifications in OSHA 10-Hour ET&D, First Aid/CPR, NSC Flagging, and Digger Derrick Operator with the elective option of receiving your Class A Commercial Driver’s License. These are the industry standard for all electrical utility and communications workers and we offer them in conjunction with our Communications Lineworker Program.
Our Communications Lineworker Program is taught by industry professionals who have been in the shoes that you hope to fill one day. With more than 30 years of combined experience, our instructors are dedicated to providing you with the safest and highest quality of training possible.
After graduating from our program, there are three main career paths that you can choose to go into: aerial construction, underground construction, and cellular. Depending on what part of telecommunications you are passionate about, you have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of high paying jobs.
